Sales Enablement Decision Scientist
The Retail Strategic Analytics team is responsible for performing advanced analytics, measurement, and decision support for Best Buy's Customer, Channel, and Services (CCS) organization. This role will be focused on supporting our Sales Enablement organization, which drives selling models, sales strategies, and vendor partnerships across the enterprise.
As a Decision Scientist supporting Sales Enablement Analytics, you will provide insights and analytical support that help the business advance its capabilities and operate more effectively. Your work will include analyzing operating model effectiveness, measuring the impact of changes to selling strategies, and unlocking new insights to inform how the business is run. Through close partnership with Sales Enablement leaders, you will translate complex data into actionable recommendations that influence strategy, prioritization, and execution.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do- Partner with Sales Enablement leaders to frame business questions, develop hypotheses, and translate operational challenges into analytical problem statements
- Analyze the effectiveness of selling models, operating models, and sales strategies to understand performance drivers and improvement opportunities
- Perform quantitative analysis using scientific methods, including descriptive analytics, hypothesis testing, and causal or comparative analysis as appropriate
- Write and maintain analytical code using tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar languages to extract, transform, and analyze data
- Create clear, presentation-ready materials that translate complex analyses into concise, business-focused insights and recommendations
- Present complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, crafting clear narratives that drive alignment and action
- Act as a trusted analytics advisor, challenging assumptions, elevating decision quality, and influencing priorities through fact-based insights
- Partner cross-functionally (e.g., Sales Enablement, Finance, DDO, D&T) to validate assumptions, align on findings, and drive adoption of insights
- Continuously build analytics and business domain expertise to improve the quality, speed, and impact of decision support
Basic qualifications- 2 or more years of experience in retail, analytics, business, or related area
- 1 or more years of experience applying analytical techniques to answer business questions or scientific questions
- 1 or more years of experience leveraging data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, Tableau/Power BI, R and/or Python
- 1 or more years of experience with retail analytics
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or similar field with quantitative rigor
Preferred qualifications- 1 or more years of experience with retail strategy, operations or selling
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into impactful business insights.
- Advanced stakeholder management and relationship building skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong project management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time.
